This series 55 staysail car has been designed for use on the SWS 94 "Kiboko" it has the following features: The car body is fitted with torlon ball bearings for ease of adjustment under high load. A seies 100 Orbit footblock is attach to the front of the car to provide a 2:1 pulling purchase. A plunger is fitted to the forward end of the car to enable the car to be more permanently secured when cruising. The series 125 plain bearing sheave with torlon side thrust bearings is secured between highly hand polished cheek plates. At the aft end of the car a towing lug is fitted,this is used to attach a towing strop which is used to tow the genoa car G055-0804. |
