This series 42 traveller car (torlon ball bearings)is used on athwartship style of mainsheet systems where a 4:1 purchase is required.The mainsheet being dead ended on one side of the boat passing via the mainsheet car sheaves (RF108000W)up to two Orbit blocks on the boom end before being led to a winch on the opposite side of the boat.The important feature of the car is that the stirrup incorporating the three sheaves provides a very compact car and avoids the common problem of having three independent blocks flailing around causing damage to each other and to the boats structure. The end controls used with this car are part number RC14285. This car is designed to run on a straight track. |
