This series 42 outhaul car is fitted with slide rods for its bearing system.An important feature of the design of this car is that the car body is extended at the foreward end to allow the attachment of a hydraulic ram used to push the car towards the end of the boom and thus tension the foot of the mainsail.Two fastening holes for M12 screws are used to attach the customers supply ram assembly connection fitting.The clew of the mainsail is attached to a st.steel pivoting stirrup using a 20mm diam pin. Typically this car would be used on monohull yachts with an overall length of up to approximately 20m |
